Twoody Server

The private server connecting your apps, models and documents.

Twoody Server is the core of self-hosted mode: it orchestrates auth, conversations, LLM providers, documents, connectors and tunnel. It can run on your infrastructure, with a host or as managed infrastructure.

Control plane

Twoody Server ties together apps, permissions, endpoints and enabled capabilities.

Observable status

Connected machines, downloaded models, RAM and latency should be visible.

Flexible deployment

Strict self-hosted, private hosting or managed: privacy wording changes with the mode.

Wichtige Details

Self-hosted promise

  • Twoody does not receive your messages when apps talk to your self-hosted server.
  • Your data stays in the environment you control.
  • LAN can work without Internet if required models and connectors are local.

Managed promise

  • Twoody Cloud is a simplicity option, not the same promise as strict self-hosting.
  • Private hosting can keep control in your account or region.
  • The website should always say which mode it describes.

Open-source and licenses

  • Twoody Server is source-available and self-hostable under BSL 1.1, with planned conversion to Apache 2.0.
  • Desktop Connector, CLI, MCP and Browser Agent are presented as Apache 2.0 building blocks.
  • Models are open source only when you choose open-source models.

FAQ

Does Twoody Server replace Twoody Cloud?

No. Twoody Server is the server component. Twoody Cloud is a managed way to provide account, billing or infrastructure.

Why not call it Twoody Local?

Because the server can run locally, with a host or managed. Twoody Server is more precise.

Is Twoody Server open source?

The exact wording is: source-available, self-hostable, under BSL 1.1 with planned conversion to Apache 2.0. Other public components may be Apache 2.0.

Open-source Open-source

The information people need to inspect or self-host.

Twoody Server should be positioned as a private, self-hostable and source-available component. The open-source angle supports the privacy promise: people can understand what runs, where it runs, and which components touch their data.

À dire Say this

“Twoody Server est self-hostable et code-ouvert ; plusieurs briques de la stack sont Apache 2.0.” “Twoody Server is self-hostable and source-available; several stack components are Apache 2.0.”

À éviter Avoid this

Do not say all of Twoody is Apache 2.0 if the server is still under BSL.

Pourquoi c'est important Why it matters

Open-source reassures developers and companies: the privacy promise becomes verifiable, not merely declared.
