A private AI on your own computer
Twoody runs a language model on your Mac or PC: your conversations and your documents are processed there, not by an online AI service. What stays on the computer, what leaves it and when, and how to check, as the app works today, in private beta.
The model runs on your computer
Twoody installs an open model, Qwen3.5 by default or another of its catalogue, and runs it with its own engine, llama.cpp; on a Mac with Apple silicon, MLX too if you install it. That model reads your messages and writes the answers. With a free account, Twoody uses only the models of your own computers. Once the model is installed, Twoody keeps answering with Wi-Fi off.
What stays on the computer
- Your conversations, your memories and the index of your documents, in Twoody's data folder, in a database it encrypts (AES-256) with a key kept by the system: the keychain on a Mac, your user account on Windows, a key manager on Linux (without one, the database stays in clear).
- Your documents: Twoody reads them where they are, without copying them elsewhere.
- A private conversation, kept on that computer only.
- Your voice: dictation is transcribed on the computer, and your voice is not sent.
- A walled-off project: its documents, conversations and notes are used in that project only.
What leaves it, depending on what you turn on
- A model you install, downloaded from Hugging Face; its fingerprint (SHA-256) is checked before it is used.
- The update check on downloads.twoody.com, without an identifier of your computer.
- Web search, off by default: your search goes to the engine you choose, not your files.
- A connector you add: it receives what you allow.
- During the beta, technical diagnostics without your questions, answers, documents or file names, shared by default: untick “Share technical diagnostics with twoody.com” in Settings › Privacy.
- The conversations you keep on your optional account, encrypted end to end.
- The other services you link yourself, such as your Home Assistant or an Outlook account: the Security page lists each one.
The account only links your devices
Twoody on your computer works without an account. The Twoody account is free and optional, and links your devices: the iPhone app, your other computers, your household. The conversations you keep on it are encrypted end to end on your devices, and Osmove holds no key that can read them; the relay between your devices sees that they talk, when and how much, but does not have the keys to read what they say. Conversations kept on the account before this encrypted history stay readable there until you erase them.
How to check
Once the model is installed, turn Wi-Fi off: Twoody keeps answering and reading your documents. A firewall app shows each connection it opens. The Security page lists what leaves the computer and when; the privacy policy describes everything Twoody processes.
Frequently asked questions
What does a private AI on your computer change?
Your questions and your documents are processed by a model installed on your computer, not sent to an online AI service to be answered there. What leaves the computer depends on what you turn on, and the Security page lists it.
Does Twoody work without internet?
Yes, once the model is installed: it answers, reads and indexes your documents with Wi-Fi off. What goes through the internet waits for the connection: downloading a model, web search, online connectors and the account.
Is my data encrypted on my computer?
Yes on a Mac and on Windows, and on Linux when a key manager is available: Twoody keeps its database encrypted (AES-256) with a key kept by the system. Your documents and the models stay your own files: encrypt your disk to protect them too.
Are my conversations used to train models?
No: Osmove does not use them to train models. On your computer, they are processed by the model you installed.
Is it free?
Yes, for personal and professional use, with no message limit: the model runs on your computer, so there are no AI servers to pay for to answer you. Twoody is in private beta, on Mac, Windows and Linux: leave your email to join the waitlist.
Try Twoody before it opens to everyone.
The private beta is free, on Mac, Windows and Linux, and on iPhone and Android with Twoody on your computer. Leave your email to ask for an invitation: we will write to you when it is ready for you.
