Who it's for
For those whose files must not leave the office.
With an online assistant, every document you give it goes through another company's servers. With Twoody, it is read on your Mac and stays there.
Lawyers and in-house counsel
- Attach two versions of a contract and ask what changed.
- Find, in a set of documents, the passage that answers a question, with its source.
Doctors and health professionals
- Turn your notes into a clean report.

Twoody does not replace your judgement: a language model can be wrong. It cites its sources so that you can check.

Chat and draft
Ask questions, have it draft, summarise or rephrase. For a hard question, choose a greater effort: "Thinking" or "Deep".
Read your documents, with their sources
Attach a file to a message, or choose folders: Twoody reads them on your Mac. Answers cite their sources, numbered, so you can check where each statement comes from.
Remember what matters to you
Memories: what Twoody should keep in mind about you and your work, from one conversation to the next. You see them and delete them.
A model sized for your Mac
When you first open it, Twoody offers the Qwen3 model that suits your Mac's memory, and installs it in one click. Nothing else to install.
The documents it reads
PDF, scanned PDFs included, read by macOS character recognition on your Mac. Word (.docx), OpenDocument (.odt), RTF, HTML, plain text, Markdown and CSV.
Not yet: Excel and PowerPoint. A very faint or blurred scan can escape recognition.

- Web search, off at first. Once on, it sends your search to the engine you chose (DuckDuckGo by default) and reads the first pages it finds.
- Other models: Twoody can use the ones you already have in LM Studio, Ollama or mlx-lm.
- Code (beta): an agent that works in a code folder, and asks you before it changes a file or runs a command.
Privacy
What leaves your Mac, and nothing else.
Your conversations, your memories and the index of your documents stay on your Mac. No telemetry, no usage statistics, no crash reports.

The update check
At most once a day, the app reads a small file on downloads.twoody.com. It can be turned off in Settings.

It is downloaded from Hugging Face, then checked before it is used.

Open
Open the downloaded file and drag Twoody to the Applications folder. The first time you open it, macOS asks you to confirm, as for any downloaded app: Twoody is notarized by Apple.

- An Apple Silicon Mac is recommended. Intel Macs work, more slowly.
- Disk space for the model: 2.5 to 9 GB.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account?
No. Twoody opens straight on the conversation, with no account.
Is it really free? How is Twoody funded?
Yes, it is free. Twoody is published and funded by Osmove, a French artificial intelligence consultancy. No advertising, and no data to sell: it stays on your Mac.
Are my documents sent anywhere?
No. They are read on your Mac, by a model installed on your Mac: we have no access to them. Web search, if you turn it on, sends your question to the engine you chose, never your documents.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Yes, once the model is installed: turn Wi-Fi off and Twoody keeps answering. Only web search needs the internet.
Where does the model come from?
Qwen3 is published by Alibaba's Qwen team, under the Apache 2.0 licence. Twoody downloads it from Hugging Face and checks its fingerprint before using it. Once installed, it is a file on your Mac, and the engine that runs it only listens to your Mac.
Can I use it in my practice, for my clients?
Yes: Twoody is free for personal and professional use.
Are my conversations backed up?
They are on your Mac, in Twoody's data folder: Time Machine backs them up with the rest of your files. Encrypt your backups, and turn FileVault on, so that they stay protected.
Can I rely on the answers?
A language model can be wrong, even when it cites its sources, and a model that runs on a Mac is smaller than the large online models. Check its answers, especially before a professional decision.
Is Twoody open source?
No. The app is free, but its code is not published. Models keep their own licence (Apache 2.0 for Qwen3) and the llama.cpp engine is under the MIT licence: every licence is listed in Settings › About.
What about Windows, Linux or iPhone?
Twoody is a Mac app first. The Windows and Linux versions are being prepared, and the iPhone app is in a private beta, by invitation.
How do I uninstall Twoody and erase everything?
Follow the two steps on this page: the app, then its data folder.
