Frequently asked questions
Does Jan run on an Intel Mac?
No: Jan's documentation says Intel Macs are not supported, and asks for Apple Silicon and macOS 13.6 or later. Twoody runs on Apple Silicon and on Intel Macs, more slowly, from macOS 13.
Can Jan read scanned PDFs?
Not in version 0.8.4: its document reader refuses scanned PDFs, since it has no text recognition yet. Twoody reads them with the Mac's text recognition, on the Mac.
Are both free?
Yes, and neither needs an account. Twoody is free for personal and professional use, with no paid offer.
