Uninstall Twoody and erase everything

The Twoody app needs no account: without one, your conversations, documents and memories are on your computer, not on our servers. Here is how to remove the app and everything it kept. If you have an online account, which is optional, you can have it deleted too, with what it keeps.

The Twoody app: erase everything

On a Mac

  1. Quit Twoody, then move the app to the Trash from the Applications folder.
  2. In the Finder, Go › Go to Folder…, open ~/Library/Application Support/ and move the twoody-desktop folder to the Trash: it holds your conversations, your memories, the index of your documents and the models installed from Twoody.
  3. Empty the Trash.

On Windows

Uninstall Twoody from Settings › Apps › Installed apps, then delete the %APPDATA%\twoody-desktop folder (type this path in File Explorer's address bar): uninstalling leaves it in place.

On Linux

Delete the AppImage file, or remove Twoody's .deb package with your package manager, then delete the ~/.config/twoody-desktop folder.

Your documents themselves are not touched: Twoody read them where they are. Models from LM Studio or Ollama, or from mlx-lm on a Mac, stay in those applications.

An online account: from the app, or by email

In the Twoody app on your computer, from version 0.13.1: Settings › Account › Delete my account…, which deletes your account and what it keeps on our servers.

Or write to support@twoody.com from your account's email address, or giving its phone number if it was created with one. We delete your account and the data tied to it on our servers, and confirm it in writing, within one month at most.

Either way, deletion erases: your conversations, end-to-end encrypted or not, your questions and their answers, your memories, notes, tasks, reminders and files, the emails received at your Twoody address, your devices and their sessions, your sign-in codes, your waitlist sign-up, and your place in a household, an organisation or a computer sharing. All that remains is a trace with no personal data: the account's number, its dates and a random replacement address, there so that this number is never given to anyone else and to prevent abuse. The payments of a former plan are kept for ten years without what identifies you, as the law requires. What is on your computer is not touched: to erase it, follow the steps above.

We may ask you to confirm the request, to make sure it comes from you.

What this website may have recorded

A waitlist sign-up: the link in each of our emails deletes it at once. An email address left to be told about the launch, or a visit that came from a campaign or another site: write to us and we delete them. The details are in the privacy policy.
